Our Vision and Purpose
The Grigg Lewis Foundation has as its vision and purpose to continue the philanthropic works that began with and were carried on by Henrietta G. Lewis during her lifetime.
Our areas of greatest interest include Arts & Culture, Community Improvements, Education, Elderly, Health & Wellness (non-clinical), History/Preservation/Tourism, Human Service, and Youth, with a heavy focus on benefitting the residents of Eastern Niagara County.
Whether the Foundation provides your program with financial assistance or not, our staff is available to provide program evaluations and to assist you in creating relationships, and promoting partnerships within our community.
Lockport Memorial Hospital
With a grant from the Grigg Lewis Foundation, "the new Lockport Memorial Hospital, a campus of Mount St. Mary’s Hospital, will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology and meet the healthcare needs of this diverse community. Lockport’s “neighborhood hospital” will offer emergency, medical inpatient, outpatient, and diagnostic services as well as offices for primary and specialty care practices. The hospital plans to open in the fall of 2023." - Catholic Health
VFW Post 2535 - Fallen Heroes Way Memorial
A grant from the Grigg Lewis Foundation, in partnership with the City of Lockport and many community volunteers, enabled the purchase and installation of six flagpoles with flags in a memorial garden located at Lockport, NY's Outwater Park to honor each branch of the United States military, along with police, fire, public works, health care workers, and border patrol. "The memorial represents the sacrifice of our service members and honors their military service. It promotes patriotism, community service, and the care of veterans and their families." - Michelle Roman, Mayor
Operation Warm partners with Lockport Fire Department
"Operation Warm thanks the Grigg Lewis Foundation for a grant that provided warmth, confidence, and hope to 32 of Lockport's children this past winter. With your help, and the additional funding raised by Lockport firefighters, the Lockport Fire Department was able to gift 192 coats and 96 pairs of shoes to children this year. The gift of new coats and shoes from Operation Warm has provided students with not only warmth but care, love, and inclusion. Their new coats and shoes enable them to take part in outside play with their peers, which increases health, social-emotional learning, and so much more." - Grace Sica, Operation Warm
