The Grigg Lewis Foundation is now serving as the Eastern Niagara County anchor for VolunteerWNY.
As the region’s premier volunteer platform, VolunteerWNY is your one-stop shop for anything and everything related to volunteerism in Western New York. VolunteerWNY (a collaboration between The Service Collaborative of WNY and United Way of Buffalo & Erie County) connects volunteers with volunteer opportunities offered by non-profits, faith-based organizations, and educational institutions.

Lockport Family Focus Group

In the fall of 2012 the Lockport Family Focus Group informally convened. By combining service providers, non-profits, municipalities, religious organizations and other key entities, we seek to enhance our support system for families of Lockport as well as the providers themselves. By expanding current and new connections among these human service agencies in Lockport, we raise awareness to support our entire community.

The group collectively organizes a Backpack and School Supply giveaway every summer that provides free backpacks, filled for each specific child, using their classroom request list. Request forms can be found at the Lockport Public Library Children’s Reference Desk every June, and are available to all families with children enrolled in the Lockport City School District, regardless of income. This initiative has grown to serve over 250 children annually and is available to assist our schools throughout the year if a current or transfer student shows a need.
